Going live with a redesigned Web site is never the easiest project. Tons of minute details can be overlooked if you are not careful.
At other times, right when you go live, the wheels can come off when technology decides to get the equivalent of stomach virus. It feels like your insides are twisted what comes out is a big, ol’ mess. (Sorry about the visual.)
What happened with ours, quite honestly, was somewhere in the middle. A few little things got overlooked. Other things, just did not work for whatever reason.
Point in case, our blog system didn’t do what the testers said it would do. That meant I had to start from scratch. We switched over to WordPress (which I’ve decided I much prefer to Blogger, at least for now).
Thus, our blogs have been vacant and dead since we’ve been live with our new site. In fact, if you click over to our other blogs, you won’t find much now. We’re just getting started on them. Actually, everyone but Brandon Glover has started their blogs. (He’s a little busy working on this weekend’s package about retail development.) Mr. Glover has now joined us as well.
But we have started, and over the next few weeks, we’ll come alive.
Blogging will be new to all of the editorial department save me, but all of us are computer savvy and live in a digital world. Plus, we all have our share of opinions, observations and insights that never make it into print. Now, they’ll live in print online for all to read.
So welcome to my blog. I encourage you to visit Gennie Phillips, Brandon Glover and our news and sports blogs. If you see nothing there today, check back. We’re getting going, and once we do, you’ll have plenty to read and comment on.
